On March 12, 2026, JGC Technical Assistance Philippines, Inc. (JTAS) successfully participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) at its Batangas office. This activity, aligned with national disaster preparedness initiatives, underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of its employees. By simulating real-time emergency responses, JTAS aims to ensure that every team member is equipped with the presence of mind and technical knowledge necessary to navigate seismic events safely.

The drill commenced as the building alarm signaled a simulated tremor. Employees immediately executed the “Drop, Cover, and Hold” protocol, seeking shelter under sturdy workstations to protect themselves from potential falling debris. Once the simulated tremors subsided, the team transitioned seamlessly from their workstations to the outdoors, exiting the building with a calm and disciplined focus. All personnel successfully evacuated to the designated assembly point, where a thorough head count was conducted to ensure everyone was accounted for.

Reflecting on the exercise, the JTAS management emphasized that regular participation in these drills is more than just a regulatory requirement; it is a vital part of the company’s safety culture. The Batangas team’s disciplined execution of the evacuation plan demonstrates a high level of readiness and collective responsibility. JTAS remains dedicated to refining its emergency procedures and maintaining a resilient workplace, ensuring that safety remains a lived reality for the entire organization.

At JTAS, we don’t just build infrastructure; we build a foundation for safety that never shakes.
